I have been racking my brains and trying to put together a list of demos that should be done at the Revel.
So far I have this list.
Belly Dancing
Fencing
Boffer war/tourney
Bar-room boffer brawls
Bardic
That's all I could come up with.
If you have an idea, Please post them. :-)

Re: Demos for the Revel
12/14are group does cooking demos
and arts and crafts for the wee ones!
the extra armor that lays around camp sometymes get put on them
we also on occasion make them do matchlocke and pole arm drill as well as show them on how to load up the falconettes -
-
Re: Demos for the Revel
12/15A cooking demo sounds like a good idea.
* looks at Gwynyth* Not to take away from the Sleeping Dragon's niche, but it might give you parents a few ideas. :-)
I have a ton of games and things for smalls. *chuckles* I come from a very kid friendly Clan.
I don't see pole arm drills as very Pirate or Gypsy like. I'm not sure what a falconette is.
Thus the Rapier demo and the boffer rounds. -

Re: Demos for the Revel
12/15I don't mind.. It'd amuse Dad to all get out to watch it.

-
Re: Demos for the Revel
12/14I think we maybe able to have some Very Blackthorne fun. -
-
Re: Demos for the Revel
12/15But how would we do it? Construct thrones and sit around, have a good old fashioned Blackthorne Council for court? Sounds like fun to unleash a touch of the old memories. -

Re: Demos for the Revel
12/15You really shouldn't give me ideas like that......... -

Re: Demos for the Revel
12/16Pole arms were in fact used in and documented in several naval battles we have 14 foot long Ash poles as opposed to the 16ftr's and proper ducumentation of its use! when we drill as the Cardiff Rose!
I love Pike and pole arm drill I financed the entire venture with my own funds and enjoy the disicpline!
Kids love it too we line them up and march em around he he!
great you have family particitpation keep up the good work!:)

Re: Demos for the Revel
12/16Falconettes and robenettes are small ordinace(cannons) Used as Anti personal devices! Remember Davy Crokett and the river boat Pirates by Disney? Mink Fink's cannon was essentualy a falconette
we can shoot out small lead marbles rocks nails and glass very fun
as we give the Haggis reason to pause when they try to raise cain!
Robinet Gun Caliber in inches 1 1/2, 120LBS, 3 feet in length
falconettes are slightly larger!
Information from Peter Young famed 17th century historian
and founder of the English Civil War society SEALED KNOT -

Unsu...
Re: Demos for the Revel
12/16I need one of those falconettes for my motorcycle. Hmmm, if I put a sidecar on my vintage BMW I could mount a mini cannon on it. Hehe, people may think twice about cutting me off in traffic after that modification!
Then to just design a recoiless carriage for it... -

Re: Demos for the Revel
12/16Our matchlocks are a high caliber(hand gonnes) and when fired off utterly destroys
everthing it hits! my commander fired his piece at a lead target two years ago and it broke the lead target in two split the pole behind it and went
two feet in to the side of the hill!
this is why Armor became obsolete during the 17th century
